SDCC 2020: Travel Channel going down Devil’s Road with the Warrens
Devil’s Road: The True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren is the first installment in Travel Channel’s new series called, Shock Docs. The premiere episode delves into the case files of America’s first paranormal investigation team.
Devil’s Road: The True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren will kick off Travel Channel’s brand-new Shock Docs series. This news was announced during the Wonder Women: Superstars of Paranormal panel at Comic-Con@Home.
Fans of James Wan’s The Conjuring series and those interested in the supernatural will definitely recognize America’s first paranormal investigation team. The pair throughout their 50-year career were involved in several high-profile cases like the Amityville Horror as well as the Smurl and Enfield hauntings.
Ed was a world-renowned demonologist and Lorraine was a clairvoyant. Together, during the 1970’s and 1980’s they made the rounds on numerous television programs and college campuses talking about their experiences. Their goal was to enlighten the rest of the world to the fact that good and evil does exist. It isn’t a figment of the imagination.
What is interesting to note, many of the tools that paranormal investigators use today can be traced back to the Warrens. They used audio and visual recorders, as well as several electromagnetic devices and in true pioneer spirit, they produced their own television show.
The two-hour Devil’s Road special will include interviews with the couple’s daughter Judy and her husband, Tony Spera. As well as exclusive, never before broadcast audio of Ed questioning the Goodin family who lived in the Bridgeport, Connecticut home that was terrorized by a poltergeist.
Also included in the documentary, will be rare video footage of the Warrens helping a woman who was under demonic possession. Travel Channel’s Shock Docs will delve into the world of real-life horror stories that span the entire United States.
Devil’s Road: The True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren premieres on Travel Channel, Monday, Sept. 7 at 9 p.m.
