Annabelle in Quarantine is exactly what the doctor ordered, in a manner of speaking. Everyone is feeling claustrophobic these days, even a demonic doll.
With the world working from home now, the Warner Brothers lot has been quiet, like an abandoned ghost town. However, that changed today when Deadline premiered a fun short created by three New Line Cinema employees.
If you had The Conjuring universe’s favorite prop lying around, wouldn’t you be tempted to use it? That’s the premise of Annabelle in Quarantine.
What kind of craziness would she get up to in a sea of empty offices? Apparently, she plays with a Ouija board (which isn’t really the best idea), watches herself on the big screen, binges on candy with her stuffed animals and takes Xerox’s of her face.
The film was shot on two employees’ iPhones and their partner directed remotely using FaceTime. As expected, the effort became a favorite among New Line personnel. Annabelle in Quarantine was even featured in the company newsletter!
Since yesterday was National Doll Day, the studio decided to unleash Annabelle’s antics on the internet via Twitter and YouTube. With the next Conjuring film heading into theaters in 2021, this is exactly what fans of the highest grossing franchise in horror history needed to see.
Depending on viewer response, the door is open for part two of Annabelle in Quarantine. Are we ready?
