The New Mutants are finally going to be unleashed on audiences everywhere on Aug. 28. Get ready to experience them IMAX style.
The New Mutants will be released on Aug. 28 ending the speculation of “will they or won’t they” premiere in theaters. Not only will fans of the comic series get to see their favorite heroes on the big screen but they will also get to experience the film in IMAX cinemas.
It is definitely going to be an event to be remembered since the film will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality that IMAX is known for using their patented technology. What makes this so special is that the audience will become immersed in the action almost as if they are a part of the scenes.
Marvel in conjunction with Twentieth Century Studios is behind this epic occasion. To celebrate the news, exclusive The New Mutants artwork has been unveiled.

Another reason why this release is exciting is the fact that it is being marketed as a horror thriller. Director Josh Boone has assembled a talented young cast featuring Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones, Doctor Who), Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, Glass), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Alice Braga (Predators), Blu Hunt (The Originals) and Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why). All of them are familiar with the genre.
We can’t help but be reminded of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors when we look at the plot of this Marvel production. The Mutants are being held in an abandoned hospital for psychiatric monitoring. This sounds very similar to the way the survivors of Freddy Krueger were in therapy together in the third installment of Wes Craven’s popular franchise.
Of course, the Mutants discover their powers just like the teens did in Dream Warriors and both have to band together to survive.
The New Mutants opens on Aug. 28 in cinemas and IMAX Theaters everywhere. To keep up to date with the film, follow @NewMutantsFilm @IMAXUSCA on Facebook, @NewMutantsFilm @IMAX on Twitter and Instagram.
