NOS4A2 (S02 E09) recap: Welcome to Christmasland

Cassie sadly tells her that it can’t happen because of what Manx did to them. He turns self righteous, telling her he did everything for them, and she lays some cold, hard truth on him. “Christmasland is a place for you to escape yourself.”
He sneers at her, reminding her that he’s immortal and no one can breach Christmasland. That’s when Cassie lets the cat out of the bag and tells him, “Victoria McQueen can, she’s already here.”
It’s always nice to see Charlie realize things are happening that are out of his control. He grabs Millie and heads out, but she tells him they can live in the real world together. He says, “Let’s go.”
Vic and Maggie take the bridge, and end up in Christmasland, where they try to figure out where Wayne might be. We see one of Manx’s dentally challenged children watching them, and when the kid runs towards them, Maggie turns and yells, “Red light!” Even demonic kids must know that game, because the child freezes.
Maggie and Vic see Christmas trees all aglow with twinkling lights, and they see that the trees are decorated with severed heads, including Maggie’s friend, the sheriff from Season One. You have to give the NOS4A2 writers props for that macabre touch.
As the kids suddenly surround them, Manx shows up with Millie and Wayne, Maggie hides under the biggest tree and sets the timer on one of the explosives. Vic tries to get Wayne to leave with her, but he’s all gung-ho for Manx now. While Manx smirks, Vic tells him that Millie told her how to get to Christmasland. Though she implores Millie to tell the truth, the girl is visibly scared.
