Bruce Campbell gets down on the latest album from LVCRFT
Bruce Campbell is lending his vocal talent to the latest LP from the spooky dance collective, LVCRFT. It’s time to get down to the groovy Halloween tracks on The Sequel.
Bruce Campbell hasn’t been idle during the summer of COVID-19. In fact, he has been anything but complacent.
The actor has been playing to sold out drive-in crowds on his Keep Your Distance Tour where he hangs out with fans, answers their probing questions and watches his flicks with them. As if that isn’t enough, he has also been working on his book of essays, The Cool Side of My Pillow, a comedy album with Ted Raimi and providing the voice of President Richard M. Nixon in the upcoming film, 18 ½.
Now, we have learned from Vents Magazine, that the busy thespian is lending his dulcet tones to the spooky dance collective, LVCRFT’s upcoming release, The Sequel.
Fans of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will recall one of their tunes, Straight to Hell which was featured in Season 3. Their last album, This Is Halloween Volume 1 which dropped in 2019, garnered critical acclaim and landed them deals with Netflix and Freeform.
Who is behind the music? LVCRFT’s creator is Evan “Kidd” Bogart, a.k.a. Lil Punkin. He is the man responsible for Beyonce’s megahit, Halo and Rihanna’s, SOS.
His partners in horror are Amanda “MNDR” Warner (Deepkutz) an EDM wizard known for Mark Ronson’s Bang Bang Bang and Grammy Award winning producer, Peter Wade who goes by the moniker, Norman Crates.
Their latest effort, The Sequel will feature 15 tracks and artists like Uffie, Bonnie McKee and Morgan McMichaels. Last year’s This Is Halloween Volume 1 attracted singer Sarah Barrios (Scary Ana Grande) and Scissor Sisters’ producer, Scott (Ghost M’lone) Hoffman.
Where does Bruce Campbell fit in? Well, he will be included on The Sequel in a tune called Exercise the Demons with the collective’s Olivia Newton Spawn.
What do we know about that song? “Bend it, stretch it, push it, squat it, lift it higher, girl, you got it!”
Joining Campbell will be none other than the Cryptkeeper himself, John Kassir who will be heard on the cut, Dead Heart Beat.
Here is a little taste of This Is Halloween Volume 1. For those of us that grew up in the 80’s, Kim Wilde’s Kids in America was an iconic new wave tune. LVCRFT has slowed the jam down, made it moody and super creepy. Check it out!
LVCRFT’s The Sequel drops on Oct. 1 on Digital. For more info on this haunting album, visit their website at this link.
