End the year with Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina finale

Fans of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina have something to look forward to in the New Year; the series fourth and final part will be premiering on Netflix.

Netflix cancelled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in July, but there were still eight unaired episodes. After a year that resulted in cancellations of fun events and delays of movie premiers, fans of the series will end 2020 with those remaining episodes to binge and enjoy.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina began its life as an Archie Comics series titled Sabrina the Teenage Witch in 1971. Later, the comic book was adapted as a cartoon series, and then a sitcom starring Melissa Joan Hart. The sitcom aired on ABC and the WB for seven seasons.

In 2014, a darker version of Sabrina’s story was once again made available in comic book form as Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The comic book was very popular, with the first two issues selling out, and a few characters from the Archie comic showed up in the storyline.

In 2017, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was adapted as a live action series, and originally intended to run on the CW as a companion to its series Riverdale. Instead, it ended up debuting on Netflix in 2018, and developed a loyal following.

Season one was split in half, with 10 episodes releasing in October, followed by a Christmas special in December. The series’ popularity continued, and it seemed to mix well with Netflix’s other horror offerings.

The second half of season one began streaming in April of 2019, and Netflix renewed the series, with half of the new episodes airing at the beginning of this year. This left eight episodes remaining in which to wrap up Sabrina’s story.

The final episodes will involve Sabrina’s coven fighting to overcome the threats posed by The Eldritch Terrors. All eight episodes will be available to stream on Thursday, December 31.
