Shudder follows up their stellar October schedule with another winning month full of great additions, including a classic miniseries and more exclusives.

It’s typical for horror selections to dwindle after October, but Shudder brings us a  November chock-full of horror, scifi and thrillers.

November 2:

Emelie (Also available in Canada) – Jacob, Christopher and Sally like their new babysitter at first, but when Anna starts to act in a way that scares them, oldest brother Jacob has to protect his younger siblings from possible evil.

Salem’s Lot – At long last, we can watch the 1979 miniseries, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel. Ben Mears (David Soul) returns to his hometown just in time to witness it falling victim to vampires. It’s worth noting that this series was directed by Tobe Hooper.

Urban Legend – In this 1998 flick, college students begin falling victim to a murderer who kills in ways that echo urban legends. You can see actors such as Robert Englund, Alicia Witt, Jared Leto and Rebecca Gayheart on screen.

November 5:

Blood Vessel (Shudder Exclusive, also available on Shudder Canada and UK) – When a hospital ship is struck by a torpedo, the survivors are adrift in a life draft with no food or water. It appears they are saved when an abandoned German ship approaches them – but is it really abandoned, or are there vampires on board? Note: the images for this movie make me think of Ghost Ship, which is one of my favorite underappreciated horror films.

November 9:

Blood & Flesh: The Reel Life and Ghastly Death of Al Adamson (Also available on Shudder Canada) – Al Adamson was the director of many B-movies, including Psycho A-Go-Go and Dracula vs. Frankenstein, but his own death was more shocking than his films. Blood & Flesh covers the making of his films and his murder at the hands of a contractor who had been hired to do work on his house.

Cherry Tree (Also available on Shudder Canada) – When Faith’s father is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Faith would do anything to save him. So, when she is presented with the chance to become pregnant and give up her baby for a blood sacrifice, she says yes. But, as we all know, deals with the devil are never what they seem.

November 12:

Lingering (Shudder Original, also available on Shudder Canada, UK and ANZ) – Yoo-mi has guardianship of her younger brother, and is staying at a hotel in her mother’s old room. As supernatural events start happening, Yoo-mi has to solve a mystery and learn the truth.

November 14:

Saturday the 14th (Also available on Shudder Canada) – John and Mary think they’ve struck it rich when John’s Uncle dies, leaving them his huge estate, but things get dangerous when a vampire wants the home for himself. This horror comedy stars Richard Benjamin, Paula Prentiss and Jeffrey Tambor.
