Guest announced for Joe Bob’s Valentine’s special

In the words of Joe Bob Briggs: “We found a holiday we haven’t ruined yet.” That’s right, Joe Bob, Darcy the Mail Girl and the crew of Shudder series The Last Drive-In are back with a brand new holiday double feature special.

Fans of The Last Drive-In are no doubt familiar with past holiday specials, which have included Dinners of Death (Thanksgiving), Joe Bob Saves Christmas and Joe Bob’s Halloween Hideaway. Each of these specials included films tied in with the featured holiday, along with guest stars and the signature hijinks of Joe Bob and company.

Joe Bob Put a Spell on You, which debuts on the live Shudder TV feed Friday, February 12, 9:00 p.m. ET, was announced earlier, but now Shudder has given us some news about a guest star. Anna Biller will be the featured guest, which pretty much solidifies my own prediction that one of the films will be The Love Witch. Biller wrote, produced, directed, edited and scored the film, which is currently streaming on Shudder.

The Love Witch is a fun, gorgeous, color-drenched treat for the eyes, and the story looks and feels like a 60s horror film. The retro vibe of The Love Witch is balanced out with a feminist perspective, and actress Samantha Robinson sells it as title character Elaine.

There have been no hints as to what the second film will be (and The Love Witch hasn’t been officially announced yet) but we can be sure it will center around the dark side of love. If you don’t catch Joe Bob Put a Spell on You live, it will be available to view on-demand on both Shudder and AMC+ Sunday, February 14.
