17. Kellan Lutz in A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot

Year of release: 2010

Character played: Dean Russell

Back in the late 2000s and early 2010s, movie studios attempted to reboot some of the top horror movies. Jensen Ackles starred in My Bloody Valentine 3d and Jared Padalecki starred in the Friday the 13th reboot attempt both in the same year. Then a year later, Katie Cassidy (another Supernatural actor, by the way) starred in the attempt to bring Freddy Krueger back.

It didn’t work, and there will be a few faces from the movie that you’ve forgotten all about. One of those is the Twilight and now FBI: Most Wanted actor Kellen Lutz.

As said, there are a few you probably forgot about. Thomas Dekker and Rooney Mara were also in the movie, but Lutz is the most forgotten about likely because he was only in the beginning of it. His character Dean (and I love the continued connections to Supernatural in these horror movie reboots, by the way) was the first killed by Krueger.

Kreuger cuts Dean’s throat in the dream, but in the real world, Dean’s friends watch Dean cut his own throat. It starts off the horror that is Krueger coming for revenge.
