11. Ryan Reynolds in The Amityville Horror

Year of release: 2005

Character played: George Lutz

Wait, Ryan Reynolds was in a horror movie? You best know him as Deadpool. You know him for his comedy and his comedy action, but there was a point where Reynolds tried to break into the more serious acting.

The Amityville Horror reboot in 2005 was one of those movies. See, I told you. Plenty of horror movies were rebooted in the 2000s and 2010s. This was one of them.

The amazing thing is that George Lutz was the main character. Reynolds took on the starring role, and there’s a good chance that you completely forgot all about him. He’s not the only one you forgot either, but we’ll get to that later on the list.

George and his wife and children move into a house that should become their home. It’s supposed to be their forever home, and it turns into a sinister nightmare. You know the original story of a man who believed himself to be possessed and went on a murder spree. George ends up being that character in the reboot.

We watch Reynolds take on this sinister role and he is certainly convincing in the role. His performance is one to watch. Sadly, the movie just wasn’t that well written to make it memorable.
