9. George Clooney in Return to Horror High

Year of release: 1987

Character played: Oliver

Wait, the star of ER was also in a horror movie? You betcha! George Clooney was actually the first to die in Return to Horror High.

His character is the lead actor in the movie that’s taking place within the movie. No, Clooney himself is not the lead actor in the actual movie. Get it?

The movie within the movie is based on true events. Clooney’s character Oliver plays a cop who decides to quit the production part way through. He doesn’t get to make it out alive though, becoming the first character in the movie to die.

This isn’t the only horror movie you’ve forgotten Clooney was in. After Return to Horror High, he starred in Return of the Killer Tomatoes. Both movies gained positive reviews at the time of their releases, but they haven’t stood the test of time.

You’ll best know him in From Dusk Till Dawn when it comes to horror movies, but he soon moved onto other genres. At least he’s always had a knack for picking good movies at the time of their releases, even if they don’t quite hold up in the genre since. In fact, some of them have ended up being on the more obscure side.
