4. Chloë Grace Moretz in The Amityville Horror

Year of release: 2005

Character played: Chelsea Lutz

I promised that The Amityville Horror would show up on the list again. This time, the reason you’ve forgotten this star is relatively understandable. Chloë Grace Moretz was a young girl in this movie.

She played George and Kathy’s daughter, Chelsea. She offers a connection to the start of the movie, saying that she has a friend in the house: Jodie. Jodie is one of the murdered DeFeo children we saw at the very beginning of the murder.

While not the main focus of the movie, Chelsea is a relatively large role for a child. She’s also one of those creepy children that we always get in horror movies. The feeling of those children tends to stick with us, but each one tends to mold together into one generic creepy child, so again, understandable that you’ve forgotten Moretz was in that role.

Moretz has stepped away from the creepy child role over the years. You can see her in many dramas and action movies, including The Fifth Wave, Greta, and the latest Shadow in a Cloud. However, the next time you watch The Amityville Horror, you’ll finally remember who she is!
