Horror movies you won’t want to watch alone: 15. The Strangers

The Strangers is not your typical horror movie, as it feels a bit more like a thriller, but at the same time, it delivers on terror. Horror doesn’t have to include ghosts and the supernatural to be terrifying, especially if you understand that danger can be found anywhere.

With this movie, we get a couple who think they are going on a relaxing getaway, but who ultimately come up against masked strangers with murder on their mind. Forget relaxing, this is going to be a weekend of survival.

Not only does the couple have to deal with a strange encounter after they first arrive, but they also have the horror of an accidental killing of their own when a friend surprises them and they think he is an intruder. But when three masked strangers show up with plans for torture, things go from bad to worse.

This is a struggle for survival and you never know exactly where the masked intruders will turn up. From wondering how they got in to begin with to what their motivations are, The Strangers is well-crafted horror with thrills and chills.

Maybe it is the fact that the masked strangers never speak and their only interaction is about terror and torture, they might just be the scariest killers around.
