Horror movies you won’t want to watch alone: 30. Annabelle

As part of The Conjuring universe, Annabelle has been given multiple movies and spotlights. And while there have been some scary moments with this creepy doll over all of the movies she has been a part of, when it comes to her best and most terrifying appearance, we have to go with the original – Annabelle.

I am someone who hates porcelain dolls. Even without the idea of a horror movie, there is something creepy about these dolls. So once you throw her into a horror franchise and make her basically a possessed demonic doll, then you know it is going to be terrifying.

There is something horrifying about an item that is meant for children to play with being evil. It is a juxtaposition that leaves you feeling a bit twisted. It also lends itself to some moments that make you want to close your eyes at least once.

No one is safe when Annabelle is free and in the very first movie where she is the star, we learn more about her origins and how she became possessed by a demon and is looking to claim souls. From attacking a priest to attempting to claim a baby’s soul, this doll is dangerous and terrifying, making this movie one you may not want to watch while you’re alone.

If there is one horror movie character I am not a fan of, it would have to be Annabelle. She is terrifying, creepy, and just proves my theory that porcelain dolls are to be avoided at all cost.
