Horror movies you won’t want to watch alone: 6. The Collector

Now that you have read about the sequel, it’s time to check out the first movie – The Collector.

After a couple returns home, they find the power is out and a weird chest has appeared in their home. They open the chest to find something very horrifying inside, but before they can do much, they are attacked by someone we do not see.

The story moves on to a new family, and a man named Arkin (we meet him in the sequel), who acts as a handyman for this family. While he is well-liked by the family, his wife owes money to some shady people and he decided to rob the family he works for in an effort to help her. Unfortunately for him, he ends up returning to the house at the same time as a killer known as The Collector is there for a twisted game of murder.

Torture and murder are on the menu with this twisted game and when we learn what the collector wants, it becomes so much worse. After all, the collector is only looking to add one new, human addition to his collection, which means everyone else is expendable.

This movie was so terrifying that it has to be on this list. Not only is it a horror thriller, but it also adds in a psychological component that makes it almost hard to watch. I definitely recommend having someone with you when this movie comes on.
