Horror movies you won’t want to watch alone: 25. Vacancy

Do you remember the 2007 horror movie Vacancy starring Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson? If not, then you definitely need to give this a watch, especially if you are a fan of these two actors (but make sure you have someone with you).

A couple on the verge of breaking up finds themselves stranded with no cell-service after their car breaks down. They end up finding a roadside motel that is definitely not on the up-and-up. After all, even before they check-in for the night, they can hear a woman screaming. And yet, they believe the manager who says the sound is coming from a TV.

Vacancy packs a punch once you realize that snuff films are being filmed in this motel and the people who have previously checked-in have not all checked out. Not only that but by the end of the movie, you learn all of the ways that this couple was lead to this moment and this motel, including some shocking reveals of who all was/is involved in these murders.

Much like with the movie Wrong Turn, Vacancy plays on our fears when it comes to traveling in an unfamiliar place, especially when you are alone. And that makes it the kind of horror movie that hits hard and you definitely don’t want to watch alone (or maybe just don’t watch it before or during a trip).
