Jakob’s Wife is the newest Shudder release, starring my friend, Barbara Crampton. I’ll get to a review for it sometime next week for everyone! It has an April 16th release, in both theaters, OnDemand and digital. What intrigues me specifically about this film, is it’s basically the life of a woman who has finally come into her own. A girl-power flick if you will. Of course, she happens to turn homicidal in the mix, but the symbolism is there.

Which is honestly, a very important life lesson. Not to mention, this definitely brings back some old-school punk/throwback vibes, which everyone can appreciate. It feels like as we ring in a new year, that horror movies have gotten to be more complicated, they make you think, make you stay interested. This is what we have needed for years, rather than just barely their characterization and an obscene amount of gore with no rhyme or reason other than just to be on the screen.

Remember girls! Live life to the fullest, and never be afraid of change! Just, you know, don’t murder anyone, please.
