The Walking Dead: World Beyond is a show you should be watching. It doesn’t have Daryl? Tough cookies. The pacing is not for everyone during episode one, but as you get going–it gets faster and faster. By episode 7, it’s Resident Evil meets Call of Duty meets Halo, meets–just go watch it.

Annet Mahendru masterfully portrays Jennifer Mallick, alias Huck with every emotion her tiny form can muster. She’s a powerhouse actor, a wonderful friend, mother, and speaks six languages. Oh, and she can definitely kick your a**.

You know the story, right? Former Marine, mows down her entire unit and her ex-boyfriend in order to save civilians, keeps getting in trouble trying to save people even in the apocalypse, eventually carving said boyfriend’s battle scar into her cheek as a reminder to do good.

Cause’, sometimes ya’ gotta’ do bad, to do good.” Huck’s motto.

Filming for season 2 in Richmond is already locked and loaded. Recently, Mahendru released an Instagram post of herself standing in front of a CRM helicopter, along with a bandage on her upper-arm (what are best friends for?!) from her literal burn the house down fight with Felix Carlucci (Nico Tortorella). What does that mean? Jenny’s home. And from that, her mother Elizabeth Kublek (Julia Ormond), and the mysterious General Beale have a lot of explaining to do.

Unfortunately, considering she sent two CRM expendables to safety, they probably are not going to like the outcome. There’s a pattern here that is similar to Althea (Maggie Grace) from Fear: The Walking Dead. Al doesn’t stay in the car, and Jenny doesn’t stay in the CRM. And who could blame her? All the people that are deemed A’s, get turned into empty experiments. Those that have heart and courage, are sent to a mental ward.

Mallick has to tread pretty lightly, and she’s already caused major waves and then some. When we last left off from the season one finale, Elizabeth mentions that a; The Campus Colony is gone (to Jen’s shock), and b; the higher-ups don’t exactly trust her because of something that happened before she even came to the Campus Colony. Before she became Huck.

Redemption arc? Pfft.

One thing is clear, she better freakin’ survive season 2.

Mahendru is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency, Bohemia Group Management & Platform PR.
