Next month we’ll finally get to see the upcoming horror drama miniseries Lisey’s Story, adapted from Stephen King’s 2006 novel of the same name. King actually wrote the miniseries too, and Pablo Larraín directs it.

Earlier today, Apple TV+ dropped the first official trailer for the upcoming series, which stars Julianne Moore as a widow that becomes the object of obsession for a stalker who is obsessed with her late husband’s work. Dane DeHaan, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ron Cephas Jones, Sung Kang and Clive Owen also star.

We know there are tons of new King adaptations coming out. It seems like there is never a shortage of King content out there. Some of it is awesome, some of it not so much, but Lisey’s Story looks like it’s going to be something special, if only because of the immense talent in front of the camera and behind it.

The Lisey’s Story trailer teases a powerful and haunting adaptation.

His recent work, The Stand adaptation for CBS All Access (now Paramount+), didn’t exactly get the best reviews, but this time King has full creative control of the project. It seems as he’s written every episode of the eight-part series. That could be a good or a bad thing, but based on the trailer, it’s going to be for the better. It also tends to help when shows have the same writer and director for every episode, as it provides a more cohesive vision overall.

The trailer doesn’t really give a super concise story, but it provides many intriguing visuals and haunting moments that show the Apple TV+ won’t be skimping on creepy content.
