Netflix’s new French survival thriller Oxygen hits streaming tonight

Tonight a new French survival thriller from director Alexandre Aja hits Netflix! Oxygen Netflix tells the story of a young woman (Mélanie Laurent of 6 Underground and Inglourious Basterds fame), who suddenly wakes up in a cryogenic pod with no memory of how she wound up there.
To make matters worse, she quickly realizes that she’s running out of oxygen and must find a way out of there before she dies. The only way she can do that is by slowly rebuilding her memory and piecing together the events that led to her miserable predicament.
So far, Oxygen is getting pretty great reviews from critics. The AV Club calls the movie a “claustrophobic” thriller that “will take your breath away.” It also sounds like this is one of those movies where the less you know going in, the better.
There is something uniquely suspenseful about movies that mostly take place in a single location, whether by story choice or low budget, it adds a great deal of intensity to the film. Aja’s recent films include the gigantic alligator thriller Crawl and the delightfully campy gorefest Piranha 3D, according to reviews, Oxygen strikes a much different tone.
What time will Oxygen Netflix be available to watch?
New projects on Netflix typically always arrive at 3:00 a.m. EST, so if you’re on the east coast, you might want to just sleep early and then watch the film tomorrow! But if you’re feeling daring you can always pull a late night to watch this creepy new movie. Those on the west coast won’t have to wait quite so long as the film will be available at midnight their time.
