It’s time for the annual Purge. Just kidding, the Purge doesn’t exist anymore! That’s the premise of the newest and final Purge film, titled The Forever Purge. Universal Pictures finally released the first trailer for the movie yesterday and it looks like it’s going to be tons of fun.

This movie is actually a sequel to the third film, The Purge: Election Year. If you recall, at the end of that movie, Senator Charlene “Charlie” Roan won the presidential election on her anti-Purge platform. Now that the Purge is abolished, a rogue group of citizens intends to continue Purging, even if it’s against the law.

The Forever Purge will focus on a Mexican couple who get stranded on a Texas ranch while trying to escape from a drug cartel. There, they are held at the mercy of a group of outsiders attempting to continue their own Purge.

The cast includes Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Josh Lucas, Cassidy Freeman, Leven Rambin, Alejandro Edda and Will Patton.

When is The Forever Purge releasing?

The Forever Purge, which, as of this moment, is being billed as the final film in the franchise, will officially release on July 2, 2021. And, as you can see by the above poster, it looks like the film is really embracing the “lawless” vibe which is an exciting new direction for the franchise.

The trailer also teases lots of new masks, which has become something of a staple in The Purge films. Among them even includes someone who appears to be wearing a cow skull.
