Cruel Summer Season 1, Episode 8 preview, release date, time & more

A brand new episode of Cruel Summer Season 1 airs tonight on Freeform! You can catch Cruel Summer Season 1, Episode 8, “Proof,” at 10:00 p.m. EST on Freeform following a showing of Grown Ups.
The previous episode of Cruel Summer focused on Kate’s birthday in an episode similar to the first episode of the season, except instead of Jeanette, it was about Kate. The latest installment also gave us some interesting information about how Kate wound up being Martin’s captive.
On Kate’s birthday in 1993, she finally confronted her mom about her affair. In return, Joy slapped her daughter across the face. Kate ran away to Martin’s house, which is the only place she thought her mom wouldn’t find her. It means Kate went to Martin of her own accord, although I’m not sure how this changes things apart from the fact Kate has lied.
Well, in 1995, Derek sleeps with Kate’s sister Ashley. Left alone in her bedroom, he discovers the instant messages between Ashley’s sock account and Kate. In them, Kate reveals that she went to Martin’s that night. Derek prints the messages out and gives them to Jeanette, who claims these messages “change everything.”
What’s happening in Cruel Summer Season 1, Episode 8?
Like the title of the episode, “Proof,” suggests, Jeanette now has a new weapon that could help her case. If she can prove Kate lied about how she wound up in Martin’s basement, then her lawyers could poke holes in Kate’s version of the truth regarding Jeanette supposedly seeing her there.
In 1993 and 1994, we see the teens at school for the first time this season. In 1994, the teenagers will quickly discover that all the drama from the summer regarding Kate and Jeanette is far from over.
