How to watch Cruel Summer Season 1, Episode 9 tonight
By Mads Lennon
Well, we’re almost to the end of Cruel Summer‘s twisted season-long mystery. What really happened to Kate Wallis and did Jeanette Turner see her while she was in captivity? The answers should start flowing in between tonight and next week as we reach the final two episodes of the season.
Set in the early 1990s, this Freeform drama has been following the story of a popular girl kidnapped by the new assistant principal at her high school. But according to Kate, Jeanette saw her there and kept it a secret so she could continue to steal her life on the outside.
Tonight is the ninth episode of the first season and we still don’t know which girl is telling the truth, but we should soon!
What’s happening Cruel Summer Season 1, Episode 9?
Cruel Summer Season 1, Episode 9, titled “A Secret of My Own,” will air tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on Freeform after a showing of Matilda. The newest episode will focus on what happened while Kate was held captive by Martin.
In the trailer for the episode, Kate admits that she wasn’t always kept in the basement. Well, we previously learned that Kate went to Martin of her own volition, at least at first. Not that Kate going to martin changes anything considering he had been grooming her for weeks.
But by the looks of it, Kate was content at Martin’s for a time before things took an ugly turn and he forced her into the basement. It’s just not clear exactly what led to that abrupt change. Perhaps Kate decided to return home and Martin didn’t want to let her go.
