Locke & Key Season 2 gets an October premiere date
By Mads Lennon
Netflix has finally announced the return date for their supernatural drama Locke & Key, based on the comic series of the same name by Joe Hill. Geeked Week is turning out to be a fun addition to Netflix’s promotional slate. From renewing Shadow and Bone to unveiling The Umbrella Academy Season 3 titles and announcing the premiere of Locke & Key Season 2, there’s been a lot of great surprises these past few days.
It has already been well over a year since the first season debuted back in February 2020, but fans will have to hold on a little bit longer as we’ve still got a few more months to go before Season 2 airs. Thankfully, Netflix also renewed Locke & Key for a third season, so at least we won’t have to worry about renewal news!
I’m guessing the pandemic also interrupted the Locke & Key scheduling which is why there was such a long wait between seasons, hopefully, that won’t be the case between Season 2 and 3.
When is Locke & Key Season 2 going to premiere on Netflix?
Netflix didn’t give us an exact date, but on June 8 they announced via the official Twitch stream that Locke & Key Season 2 would debut sometime in October 2021. It’s perfect timing considering the show has a relatively spooky premise and is considered a horror comic. That said, the first season toned down a lot of the comic’s darker elements, I’m hoping Season 2 might embrace them more.
That said, even though Netflix didn’t give us an exact date, they did release some first-look photos and it seems like the new season will be exciting! You can check out the images below:
