Ubisoft releases new sneak peek for horror comedy Werewolves Within

Today Ubisoft got the chance to display their slate of upcoming games, television shows and movies as part of the E3 2021 press conference. Even if you’re not a gamer, Ubisoft Forward included one special addition for horror fans, an exclusive sneak peek for their upcoming horror comedy film Werewolves Within.
As the trailer cheekily points out, Werewolves Within is based on a popular Ubisoft game that you’ve probably never heard of, but that’s okay! The game of the same name from Red Storm Entertainment is a Mafia-style Ocular VR adventure released in 2016 where the residents of a medieval-fantasy town must figure out which townsfolk is a werewolf in disguise.
Directed by Josh Ruben, the film stars Sam Richardson, Milana Vayntrub, George Basil, Sarah Burns, Michael Chernus, Catherine Curtin, Wayne Duvall, Harvey Guillén, Rebecca Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson, Michaela Watkins and Glenn Fleshler.
The movie will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and is set to have a limited release in theaters on June 25 while hitting VOD on July 2.
Werewolves Within: You might be more familiar with the party game!
Once a video game, most people will be more familiar with the concept of the film if you’ve played the party game where you and a group of friends try to figure out who the werewolf is after pulling from a deck of cards.
And before you roll your eyes and pass on this film because it’s a video game adaptation, we recommend giving it a chance! The trailer and sneak peek make it look like a creative, fun adaptation and the plot certainly lends itself to a horror-comedy plot, especially if you’re a fan of whodunnits and games like Clue.
The official film synopsis:
"A snowstorm traps town residents together inside the local inn, where newly arrived forest ranger Finn and postal worker Cecily must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community."
