According to a new report from Friday the 13th Franchise, the old-school Higgins Haven house from Friday the 13th Part 3 is being rebuilt at the original filming location. The movie is still revered by diehard fans of the series for its charming characters and 3D gimmick.
The film was originally filmed at the Veluzat Movie Ranch in California and throughout the years, Friday the 13th fans have made the trek to the ranch to see the Higgins Haven house and barn. But in 2006, the house actually burnt down because of some careless people. Since then, no one has been able to visit, until now!
A new interview conducted by YouTuber Scott On Tape spoke with the ranch’s owner, Daniel Veluzat. Apparently, Daniel mentioned that there were plans for the house to be rebuilt and the surrounding lake recreated. He also hinted that there might be a special Friday the 13th project in the works utilizing the filming location once they’re reconstructed.
Another project might potentially be in the works for the Friday the 13th house
For fans disappointed that they never got to visit the original house, this is a monumental development since it might give newcomers a chance to visit. Plus, who knows? Maybe the house could be reused in a future Friday the 13th film.
“Soon we’re gonna be putting the house back in, putting the lake back in. Kinda rebuilding this Friday the 13th set back to its original glory days. There’s even talks of something happening down the road. So, we’ll see what happens,” Veluzat confirms in the video.
Check out the location tour video below that includes the interview with Daniel. We hope to hear more about this project soon and look forward to visiting the Movie Ranch when the house and lake are completed!
