The Forever Purge is the newest film in The Purge franchise and once thought to be the final film in the popular film series. However, franchise creator James DeMonaco recently said that The Forever Purge might not be the final film, after all.

As the film releases in theaters tomorrow, July 2, many fans are wondering if the movie is also available to watch or stream at home.

Is The Forever Purge available to watch on HBO Max?

Things are a little complicated with NBCUniversal right now because of a deal they have with Netflix, HBO Max, and the company’s own streaming service Peacock. At the moment, Netflix is able to get access to Universal Pictures’ animated films from Illumination Studios while HBO Max has the right to stream Universal Pictures films nine months after releasing in theaters.

Previous Universal films like The King of Staten Island, The Invisible Man, and The Photograph are available to stream on HBO Max or Cinemax. So does that mean The Forever Purge is coming to HBO Max?

It’s possible, but don’t expect it to go there anytime soon. NBC is still trying to decide how many of their films should be saved to go exclusively to Peacock.

When will The Forever Purge come to streaming?

Right now it’s not clear when The Forever Purge will be available to stream. Currently, The Purge and The Purge Anarchy are available on Peacock so that might mean NBC plans to collect the entire franchise there.

The good news is, thanks to a new deal Universal Pictures has made with theaters, their movies have the option of coming to digital rental services much earlier after just a 17-day theatrical window. So if you would rather wait to watch it at home, you should be able to see the film on demand by late July.
