Fear Street is all anyone can talk about right now because the first movie of the three-part summer horror movie event just started on Netflix. But now everyone wants to know when Fear Street Part 2: 1978 is officially releasing.
The horror trilogy is based on R.L. Stine’s popular Fear Street book series. The first film, which released on July 2, 2021, was set in the two of Shadyside, a place plagued by years of deadly massacres. It seems like every few years, a Shadyside resident goes crazy potentially due to a curse from a witch named Sarah Fier who was hanged in town in the 17th century.
In Fear Street Part 1, we met a group of teenagers who found themselves unwittingly drawn into the latest massacre and on the run from a killer after accidentally triggering the curse.
We’ve got everything you need to know about the second film in the trilogy, which releases very soon!
When is Fear Street Part 2 coming out?
Fear Street Part 2 is coming out next Friday, July 9, 2021. The new movie will go back in time to 1978 during the Camp Nightwing Massacre. We actually met the killer from this film briefly in the first movie. He’s the slasher that popped up wielding an ax and wearing a bag over his head.
This killer is obviously an homage to Jason Voorhees and the second film looks like it’s going to have lots of fun Friday the 13th references. The first movie paid homage to movies like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, it’ll be exciting to see what these next two movies have to provide.
It also looks like the second movie will continue to expand on the Fear Street mythology as we learn more about the mysterious C. Berman and her previous experience with the Shadyside curse. Following the second film, the third Fear Street movie will release the Friday after next, on July 16, 2021.
