Ryan Murphy is back with an expansion on his extremely popular horror anthology series American Horror Story, except this time he’s telling gruesome tales in contained, hour-long episodes in FX on Hulu original American Horror Stories.

Like the title suggests, this show has more freedom than its parent series in that it can continue stories originated by AHS or tell brand-new ones in any universe since each episode can vary wildly, similar to other episodic anthologies like Black Mirror.

So far, we know that the show will see the return of Taissa Farmiga and Evan Peters, tie back to Murder House, and introduce the “Rubber Woman.” Many other AHS alums are also set to return, like Sarah Paulson, who is expected to direct one episode this season. Other new and returning cast members include Kevin McHale, Matt Bomer, Kaia Gerber, Billie Lourd, Charles Melton, and many more.

The series will premiere tomorrow July 15, through FX on Hulu, meaning exclusively on Hulu, at 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET. The first two episodes will drop at the same time followed by weekly episode releases after that.

What is American Horror Stories about?

The first episode releasing is titled, “Rubber(wo)Man” and focuses on a teenager and her parents moving into a home with a dark past. Based on the teasers for the show, it looks like that home is the infamous Murder House from American Horror Story Season 1.

The synopsis for Season 1, Episode 2, “Rubber(wo)Man Part Two,” reads: “Scarlett enters a twisted new romance while Michael and Troy are forced to confront their rocky relationship.”

As for the remainder of the season, the details are being kept under lock and key for now. That said, if you watch the official trailer for the show above you can get a lot of glimpses and teases of what creatures and characters we might see as the season unfolds.
