Yesterday, Shudder presented a virtual panel for the Original anthology series Slasher Season 4, officially titled Slasher: Flesh & Blood, during Comic-Con@Home. Along with releasing a new trailer for the upcoming season, the panel also revealed some key art and an official synopsis.
Based on the trailer, it looks like the new season of Slasher—which has shuffled around networks quite a bit, originating on the now-defunct Chiller, moving to Netflix, and now at Shudder—will borrow elements from Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None and Ready or Not.
The virtual panel for Slasher: Flesh & Blood was moderated by Bloody Disgusting’s Meagan Navarro and featured stars David Cronenberg, Paula Brancati, Rachael Crawford, showrunner Ian Carpenter and Slasher creator Aaron Martin. It will be released online through AMC+ with all other AMC Networks panels on Thursday, July 29 in a special AMC+ Fan Experience collection.
Slasher Season 4 synopsis
"Slasher: Flesh & Blood follows a wealthy but dysfunctional family that gathers for a reunion on a secluded island only to learn they’ll be pitted against one another in a cruel game of life and death, all while being stalked by a mysterious masked killer. Nothing is what it seems, and no one is safe as the tension- and the body count- ratchets up."
Slasher Season 4 trailer
The new trailer shows yet another wealthy, but extremely dysfunctional family departing for an isolated island. In the beginning, we find out that this family will have to compete against each other in a series of games if they want to win the family patriarch’s massive fortune. It reminds me of Ready or Not, although this doesn’t hinge on a wedding.
This season’s “slasher,” is clad in a black top hat, cloak, and creepy white mask. It feels more in line with a traditional getup than last season’s crazy Druid killer. Like previous installments, expect this season to combine traditional murder mystery elements with intense horror and unique kills.
Slasher Season 4 release date
The new season of Slasher will officially premiere on August 12, so you don’t have to wait too much longer to watch! It sounds like the season will come out all at once, which makes it the perfect binge-watch.
