In 2019, Shudder released the critically acclaimed documentary feature Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror and this October, and fans will get to see the follow-up to that film. Horror Noire is a new project showcasing six new stories from established and emerging talents.

The six stories will be presented together in a Shudder Original anthology film. AMC+ and Shudder presented virtual panels yesterday at Comic-Con@Home, and among them were Horror Noire and the Shudder Original series Creepshow.

All AMC Networks panels will post to AMC+ on Thursday, July 29, in a dedicated AMC+ Fan Experience collection, along with memorable sessions from prior years.

What is Horror Noire about?

The panel was moderated by writer/editor/speaker Ashley C. Ford. It featured anthology writers Tananarive Due, Steven Barnes, Victor LaValle and Shernold Edwards. They all participated in the anthology film and shared the inspiration behind their stories and how they adapted them into different formats.

Based on the above teaser, the film will feature the following stories:

  • Sundown by Al Letson
  • Bride Before You by Shernold Edwards
  • Brand of Evil by Ezra Clayton Daniels
  • Fugue State by Tananarive Due and Steven Barnes
  • The Lake by Tananarive Due and Steven Barnes
  • Daddy by Victor LaValle

We don’t yet have details about who is cast in these stories. Shudder hasn’t officially announced the release date, but we know the film is releasing in October. You can watch the first Horror Noire documentary anytime on the streaming service.

Even though we don’t know what these stories will be about, the titles are definitely enticing enough to make people interested in what this movie will have to offer!
