Funko Pop! Blitz awakens never-before-seen Funko Pops! for The Mummy Event

Are you a regular player of the match-3 mobile game Funko Pop! Blitz? If so you’ll want to play the game this week to participate in a limited-time crossover event featuring beloved characters from The Mummy, the classic 1999 active thriller from Universal Pictures.

Funko fanatics and fans of The Mummy will get the opportunity to see never-before-seen Ardeth Bay and Jonathan Carnahan Funko Pops!, both exclusively available to collect in Funko Pop! Blitz. This fast-paced game will also include other iconic characters from the film, including Rick O’Connell, and Evelyn Carnahan as they strive to defeat the immortal Imhotep.

For those who need a refresher, The Mummy starred Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, and Kevin J. O’Connor. The movie is still considered a favorite by many horror and action film fans alike. Fraser portrays the dashing legionnaire Rick O’Connell who is stuck in prison until he realizes that he can use his knowledge of the location of Hamunaptra and the legendary treasures that supposedly lie in the ancient ruins to bargain for his freedom.

The special Funko Pop! Blitz crossover event kicks off on Wednesday

Throughout the event, which takes place from Wednesday, August 4 at 5:00 p.m. PDT until Tuesday, August 10 at 5 p.m. PDT, players will discover their game board transformed into a Treasure Room. You’ll need to match character heads to collect the key and unlock all The Mummy characters for your virtual Funko Pop! collection.

The key to Hamunaptra is hidden in the sand and you will have to complete all stages to unlock the event exclusive Pop!, Rich O’Connell. The more you play and unlock The Mummy characters, the better your chances are of finding the key and unlocking the Rick Pop!

The Mummy event will run from Wednesday, August 4 at 5 p.m. PDT until Tuesday, August 10 at 5 p.m. PDT. Funko Pop! Blitz is free to play and can be downloaded today via the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad and Google Play Store for Android devices.
