12. Scáthach American Horror Story: Roanoke

The biggest problem I had with Roanoke was that there were too many stories that never felt like they were told. And yet, we still got some interesting villains, including Scáthach. Her story did not get fully told, and yet we learned so much about this bloodthirsty woman/witch/supreme leader.

We do learn that technically she is the first supreme in the new world. And that is pretty impressive, considering we already know how powerful the coven is and has been. However, her being a supreme is not what makes her a villain.

What makes Scáthach a villain of the AHS universe is the fact that she is bloodthirsty and murderous (you know typical villain stuff). After being accused of being a witch and sentenced to death, she ended up butchering the soldiers who were attempting to murder her.

She wants power and she will do what she needs to do in order to bring that power to herself. Among the things that make Scáthach so evil, is also her ability to get others to do her dirty work. It’s all pretty awful and insidious.

But that is why she is technically a pretty typical villain in the world of American Horror Story. (The fact that she was portrayed by Lady Gaga was a bonus in a good way for us all because it made us want to learn all we could about the character.)
