25. The Countess American Horror Story: Hotel

She was stunning and regal, a true princess of the movies, but in the end, that is not why the Countess is on this list of greatest villains. The thing about the Countess is that she was a vampire and a murderer. And while being a vampire does not make her a bad person, it didn’t help.

She collected children, kidnapping them from their families and turning them into vampires to have a family of her own. And while there are plenty of reasons to feel sympathetic towards her, she was in fact a murderer and she technically killed children.

But it was not just her kidnapping and killing of children that makes her a great villain, it is also the fact that she was able to consistently use people for her own gain and nourishment. She seduced people over the years to get what she needed and when they did something against her she discarded them like trash, leaving them to fend for themselves, often damaged and of course, turned into vampires.

She let killers loose and turned people into killers and she did it all in an effort to get what she wanted and to mess with her husband (who gets his own place on this list). Together they are the definition of a messed-up couple and they are awful.

At the end of the day, the Countess is an awful person, a true villain, but not the worst of the bunch by any means.
