22. Kai Anderson American Horror Story: Cult

When it comes to villains, it is hard to look at American Horror Story: Cult and not feel like in some cases the villains are the worst of the worst, and in others, they don’t even live up to the best of the series. But there is something to be said for a villain like Kai Anderson who uses his magnetic personality to make people do what he wants.

And what he does want? He wants to make sure that the world burns. And how is he going to do that? He inspires hate in others. He is the kind of villain we see in the world right now, who we don’t even look at as villains.

The problem with calling Kai Anderson one of the greatest AHS villains is that he is truly an internet troll who later becomes a cult leader. What makes him a great villain is that he really is the reason for many of the deaths in Cult. He was also manipulative and calculating, inspiring fear and hate as he kept pushing the boundaries to get what he wanted.

Kai Anderson wanted to watch the world burn. And he did exactly that. He not only watched it burn, but he also helped make it happen.

As a villain, he is inspired, but he is horrifying because he could be anyone off the street or on the internet today.
