20. Sister Mary Eunice American Horror Story: Asylum

There were many characters in Asylum that could be considered villains, and while you might think that the murderous doctor also known as Bloody Face, would be higher than Sister Mary Eunice, there is something insidious about this character.

Perhaps it is the fact that she is a nun, which means she is supposed to be doing God’s work, that makes her a real villain in this universe. In the name of religion, Sister Mary Eunice does awful things to people she is supposed to protect.

We learn that she is possessed by the devil himself, but in many ways, that doesn’t negate the fact that she is sadistic, bloodthirsty, and conniving, among other evil attributes. Even with the devil running through her, there is something about the Sister that makes her seem more shy and innocent – the way she was before she became possessed.

And maybe it is the fact that at one point she was innocent and good, that makes her transformation into an evil individual so impactful, but she really is a well-crafted villain in this season. (It probably doesn’t help that as someone who went to Catholic school, every time a horror movie or show uses a demonic or possessed nun I have nightmares.)
