Why the character was the worst: There is nothing worse on a TV series than a character that looks interesting and has some great potential and then nothing happens. That was the case with the Scathach.

There was some excellent potential for this character. Originally a stowaway on a ship headed for the colonies, she ended up imprisoned. This wasn’t because she was a stowaway, but because the ship she was on was plagued by death. Naturally, the men believed she was the reason for it. And with her being descended from the Druids, she became an easy scapegoat.

She was supposed to be executed for being a witch but ended up escaping and killing the soldiers who had imprisoned her. After escaping into the wild, she came across Thomasin White, an exiled former leader of the Roanoke colony. That led to White following the Scathach’s religious ways.

See, a lot of potential. However, the Scathach was barely used in a very questionable season of American Horror Story.

Part of this may have been linked to Lady Gaga’s availability during the season. However, a poorly developed character is worse than no character at all. We needed more with this character, and not just with the story told but to actually see it play out properly.
