Madison Montgomery from American Horror Story: Coven

Why the character was the worst: Emma Roberts doesn’t play the most likable of characters on any TV show. Madison Montgomery has to be one of the worst ever.

She’s egotistical and stuck up. Her opinion is all that matters to her, and she believes that she is the best of the witches. She even goes as far as not bringing Zoe back to life just so she doesn’t have to face any competition. So much for girlfriends!

Madison does have a tragic backstory. She comes from a family that has used her routinely, so it’s no wonder she developed this personality to protect herself. Then there’s the gang rape, which leads to her killing almost everyone in a coach full of college students. Some of her actions are justified, but that doesn’t mean we have to like her for them!

During American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Madison did redeem herself. She realized the pain she caused and showed remorse, even going as far as sacrificing herself to help save the world. However, it was all undone. The only upside is that she didn’t go back to being the narcissistic sociopath we came to know her as in Coven. Instead, she went back to her own personal hell getting the chance to redeem herself again.
