What is Frances Conroy’s best American Horror Story role?

Sometimes it feels like Frances Conroy is an unsung hero to the AHS franchise. She is perhaps the most underrated of all the stars of the series. Her characters make an impact every time she appears, and even though she never gets the same billing as stars like Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, she always shows up and delivers.

As Myrtle Snow, Conroy delivers one of her best performances of the series. Myrtle is a rather quirky witch who stands out from the rest of the coven witches. But her ability is fascinating, as she is able to determine when people are telling the truth.

She is perhaps one of the most dedicated witches of the coven because her entire goal and purpose seem to be to protect the witches and make sure that they all are at their very best as a unit. Considering she is the head of the witches council by the end of her first season as Myrtle, that makes perfect sense all around.

And when she showed back up in AHS: Apocalypse, it was a perfect reminder that she was a force to be reckoned with and definitely someone we know can figure out a way to save the world no matter what.

It doesn’t matter what character Frances Conroy portrays, she is brilliant. But as Myrtle Snow, she was often a scene-stealer.
