American Horror Story: Best performances from 25 key AHS actors
What is Adina Porter’s best American Horror Story role?
Considering AHS: Apocalypse was really a combination of two seasons, Murder House and Coven, it can be hard to point to one character that really stood out from the crowd (beyond Michael Langdon of course). But that was not the case with Adina Porter’s Dinah Stevens.
Dinah Stevens is said to be the last Voodoo Queen. Following the death of Marie Laveau, she took on the role in New Orleans. While she actually had a very popular television show of her own before the start of the apocalypse.
She chose not to take the gift of immortality that Papa Legba offered to her predecessor and is instead someone who looks out for herself. She is all about remaining neutral and passive, and she wants nothing to do with the witches or the coven in New Orleans. And that leads to her heading to Los Angeles.
During the apocalypse, we find that she is so self-involved if you will that she actually betrays the witches and perhaps even her own son in order to align with Michael Langdon, aka the anti-Christ and bringer of the apocalypse.
When we say Dinah Stevens looks out for herself, we mean it and her actions during the apocalypse prove that. She may be a highly intelligent woman, but she is also very selfish and immoral. We don’t exactly like Dinah, but we can appreciate her and what she has done. And yes, this also makes her character one we can’t help but watch.
