What is Sarah Paulson’s best American Horror Story role?

Evan Peters is not the only iconic American Horror Story actor. Sarah Paulson is also an icon of the franchise and her characters make an impression every single time they appear on the screen. However, Cordelia Goode may just be the best character she has ever given us.

Not only was she the daughter of the former Supreme (played by Jessica Lange), but she was a gifted witch. And those gifts were enough to make her the new Supreme of the coven and headmistress of the academy.

Cordelia was blind but had a gift for the sight and then later stabbed her own eyes out to get her gift back. But once she completes the Seven Wonders, her sight is once more restored.

Over the course of the series, we watch her go from a more timid individual into a powerful leader who knows her worth and will not allow her girls to just survive. Instead, she wants her coven to thrive.

On the whole, Cordelia is a kind and caring woman with power. And even though she has power, she does not allow it to twist her into something vile or evil.

Her journey in Coven is empowering. And when we see her again in Apocalypse, it is clear that she has continued to lead her people with a sense of care that the previous Supreme clearly was lacking.

Sarah Paulson was truly brilliant in this role and left us wanting more Coven (and no, there was not enough Coven in Apocalypse for us).
