What is Naomi Grossman’s best American Horror Story role?

When American Horror Story first premiered, we learned quickly that this was going to be an anthology series with new storylines every season. But one character quickly popped up in two seasons where they had decent storylines and stories to tell.

And of course, that character was Pepper, played by Naomi Grossman. Pepper first arrived on our screens in American Horror Story: Asylum. While we got hints as to who she was and where she came from, it was not until Freak Show that we really learned her story. And it was tragic and heartbreaking.

Pepper is a sad character in many ways. The horror of her story is the fact that she was basically abandoned by the person she considered family and left with her actual family who betrayed her in a way that was criminal.

She was accused of murdering her own nephew and locked up in an asylum where she was left to die. Pepper deserved so much better from the people in her life. And thanks to Naomi Grossman, we were treated to not one, but two amazing performances as this particular character.

The fact that she was able to portray any other characters will always stand out because her Pepper is pretty much iconic at this point.
