3. Kate
While not technically one of the new horror movies, Kate has enough thrill and action to make it onto this list. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as the titular character in this upcoming Netflix action thriller. Slipped a fatal poison, a ruthless assassin has only 24 hours to get revenge on her enemies. In the process, she forms a bond with the daughter of one of her former victims.
Kate starts streaming on Netflix on September 10.
2. The Voyeurs
A young couple, played by Sydney Sweeney and Justice Smith, moves into a loft apartment in downtown Montreal and finds themselves increasingly interested in their eccentric neighbors’ (played by Ben Hardy and Natasha Liu Bordizzo) sex life. What starts as mere curiosity soon blossoms into a full-blown obsession in this erotic thriller.
The Voyeurs premieres on Amazon Prime on September 10.
1. Nightbooks
A dark fantasy based on the horror-fantasy children’s book of the same name by J.A. White, Nightbooks is about a young boy named Alex (Winslow Fegley ) that becomes the prisoner of a witch, played by Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter. To avoid death, he convinces the witch to tell him a scary story each night. Alex eventually teams up with her servant, Yazmin (Lidya Jewett), to try and escape the magical labyrinth where they’re held being held prisoner.
Nightbooks premieres on September 15 on Netflix.
