Evil Season 2 will not be on Netflix; Season 1 is leaving soon
By Mads Lennon
Bad news for Evil fans. There are no current plans for Evil Season 2 to go to Netflix, confirms What’s On Netflix. The news isn’t all that shocking given that the show recently moved to Paramount+, CBS’s personal streaming service. However, it is still a bummer for those who binged the first season on Netflix and were hoping to catch up on the sophomore run without investing in another streaming service.
Netflix even had permission to stream the show’s first season because they made a deal for a single-year license, which was specifically for the first season. CBS is being more stingy about making these licensing deals now because it has its own service, which wouldn’t be beneficial to them.
Putting Evil Season 1 on Netflix for a while was a smart marketing tactic from the network as it allowed Evil to find a bigger audience during the lengthy hiatus between seasons. Now, if fans want to keep up, they’ll be forced to flock to Paramount+.
Where can you watch Evil Season 2?
Right now, the only places you can watch the second season are on Paramount+ with a paid subscription. In the future, you might be able to purchase the second season at least, either digitally or via a physical release. But for now, if you really want to get caught up on the show, then you’ll have to shell out some money for a Paramount+ subscription.
Evil Season 1 is leaving Netflix soon
The cherry on top of all of this is that Netflix’s licensing deal for Evil Season 1 will soon expire. You only have until October 1, 2021, to finish watching the show’s first season before it is removed from the platform, likely for good. On the plus side, you still have a full month ahead of you, which is plenty of time to catch up on the first and second seasons.
New episodes of Evil Season 2 stream Sundays exclusively on Paramount+.
