Launching in October in time for Halloween, The Girl in the Woods Crypt TV is a new YA supernatural drama set in the Pacific Northwest. The upcoming series is based on a Crypt TV short film and will premiere exclusively on the NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock.
The Girl in the Woods features monstrous creatures and touches on contemporary social issues like environmentalism, LGBTQ+ discrimination, and the consequences of inequality. Nightbooks actress Krysten Ritter directed the show’s first four episodes, including the pilot, and Jacob Chase directed the last four.
What’s also exciting about this show is that it was brought to life by an all-women writing team. Jane Casey Modderno, who previously worked with Crypt TV on The Birch, returns here as the head writer.
