This week has been exceptional for horror fans with the release of Halloween Kills, Just Beyond, Chucky, and now the highly anticipated I Know What You Did Last Summer television series releasing on Amazon Prime Video tonight. The first four episodes of this modernized adaptation of the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan will release on the streaming service on Friday, October 15, 2021.

While most people are familiar with the 1997 film starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. (along with its subsequent sequels), this version is adapted from the book and not a remake of the movie. However, there are sure to be some shoutouts, easter eggs and homages for fans of both.

Are you excited to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer? Are you a fan of the original movies?

What time does I Know What You Did Last Summer premiere tonight?

The good news is that even though the new show doesn’t officially release until tomorrow, sometimes Amazon Prime Originals release earlier than other streaming service series.

Since this is a global original, Amazon will release it at midnight GMT, which means you might be able to watch the first four episodes as early as 7:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, October 14, and even earlier for the west coast fans, at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Start refreshing the website around that time and check back every half hour or so to see if they pop up. But remember, there is no guarantee that they will drop that early. Amazon release dates aren’t as easy to predict as Netflix. If not, then you can at least anticipate watching at midnight your local time.
