Shudder in November: A Thanksgiving slasher and the best jump scare ever

November 16:
Blood Rage – Those of us who have been hungering for a Thanksgiving slasher film may have gotten their wish with this 1987 film (also known as Nightmare at Shadow Woods and Slasher). Todd was institutionalized after his identical twin brother Terry killed a teenager, then framed Todd for the murder. 10 years later, Todd escapes the institution on Thanksgiving and seeks revenge.
Etheria Season 1 – An anthology series version of the film fest showcasing women directors, Etheria promises genre-related stories directed by amazing women.
November 19:
Prisoners of the Ghostland (Also available on Shudder UK) – Nicolas Cage is a bank robber sprung from jail by The Governor (Bill Moseley), a warlord whose granddaughter has disappeared. Nic is suited up with a self-destructing device and given five days to find the girl.
November 22:
Exorcist III – Known for one of the greatest jump scares in horror film history, this film features George C. Scott as a police Lieutenant investigating a slew of murders echoing the now-deceased Gemini killer. His sleuthing leads to a psychiatric ward, where he encounters Brad Dourif, who promptly steals the entire film with his creepy performance.
November 23:
The Strings – Catherine is a talented musician who travels to a coastal cottage with her aunt to work on her music in peace and quiet. She meets a photographer named Grace, and after the two begin a romance, some supernatural events start cropping up at the cottage.
November 29:
Wake in Fright – A British teacher finds himself stranded in The Yabba, a brutal town in the Australian Outback. After a night of drunken debauchery, John must face his own possibly violent nature.
