30 new horror movies and shows coming out in November 2021

Halloween is over, but here at 1428 Elm, we celebrate the spooky holiday all year. We’re already looking ahead to see what horror movies and shows are arriving on streaming, on-demand, and in theaters in November 2021. Thankfully, there is no shortage of content to look forward to.
Whether you’re in the mood for true crime, vampires, a new Resident Evil film, shark attack movies, or demonic rituals, there’s a little something for everyone in the upcoming November lineup. Plus, Dexter finally returns, and the long-awaited Ghostbusters: Afterlife comes out just in time for the holidays!
29 new horror movies and shows coming out in November 2021
Shudder
Since Shudder is AMC’s premium horror streaming service, it’s the first place you should look for new horror content all year round. Continuing from last month, new episodes of Behind the Monsters premiere on Wednesdays and new episodes of The Boulet Brothers Dragula premiere Thursdays.
Then there are four new Shudder Originals releasing this month, including vampire flick Dead & Beautiful, which comes out this Thursday, Nov. 4. Next week, the shark attack movie Great White comes to the platform on Nov. 11. Nicolas Cage’s Prisoners of the Ghostland debuts exclusively on Shudder starting Nov. 19.
Finally, on Nov. 23, The Strings premieres. The Strings is about a talented musician who travels to a remote cottage and soon experiences dangerous supernatural occurrences manifesting there.
Horror on TV
The long-awaited Dexter revival finally releases this weekend, Sunday, Nov. 7, exclusively on Showtime. Dexter: New Blood sees our favorite serial killer ten years after the original show ended, now set up in a small fictional town in New York.
Then on Nov. 14, you might want to check out Showtime’s new coming-of-age drama/psychological horror show Yellowjackets, which revolves around a group of young girls who find themselves stranded deep in the remote wilderness.
Streaming
Netflix has two true crime projects coming out early in November, including the thrilling docuseries Catching Killers out on Thursday, Nov. 4, followed by Yara on Friday, Nov. 5. Yara is based on a true story and follows a determined prosecutor intent on finding out what happened to a missing 13-year-old girl.
Next week on Nov. 11, the serial killer thriller starring Lucy Hale, Ragdoll, premieres on AMC+. Based on the book of the same name by Daniel Cole, Ragdoll centers on an investigation into a particularly sinister case after investigators find a “ragdoll” comprised of body parts sewn together from six different victims.
Also coming soon to AMC+ is the Italian dystopian drama Anna, which is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a virus kills adults but spares children. The series premieres on Nov. 18.
Starting this Friday, Nov. 5, you can watch the French horror film The Deep House on EPIX or in select theaters. The Deep House follows a pair of divers who venture beneath the sea to look at an underwater house, only to discover it’s haunted. Also coming to EPIX in November is The House on the Bayou, one of EPIX’s collaborative films with Blumhouse. It arrives on Nov. 19.
Theaters
The new Ghostbusters movie is finally releasing in November! Ghostbusters: Afterlife releases on Nov. 19. That same day you can also watch Bruce Campbell’s new horror-comedy film Black Friday about the titular holiday.
In Black Friday, Campbell stars alongside Chucky star Devon Sawa as employees at a big-box store where a zombie outbreak occurs on the day after Thanksgiving. The movie will be released in select theaters and on-demand.
Adapted from the first and second games in the series by Capcom, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City promises to be a more accurate adaptation of the iconic survival horror games. The new film releases in theaters on Nov. 24.
On-Demand
On Nov. 19, the Welsh horror fantasy film The Feast from IFC releases on-demand. The new movie centers on a terrifying business dinner that quickly goes awry.
