7. The Conjuring (2013)

It’s kind of crazy to look back at where The Conjuring franchise started almost ten years ago. Now there are three films in the main trilogy, a spinoff trilogy, and two other spinoff films in the franchise. But most fans agree that none of the follow-up movies can top the original 2013 movie, which is just downright terrifying. Starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren (based on the real couple), The Conjuring follows the Warrens as they look into the Perron family haunting. The Conjuring and its sequel are among the best horror movies on Netflix.

6. Zodiac (2007)

One of David Fincher’s best films, Zodiac is, of course, about the infamous serial killer. Set in the late 1960s and 1970s, Zodiac stars Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr. This group of intrepid investigators and reporters find themselves embroiled in a chase for the enigmatic killer who likes to taunt the authorities and leave behind cryptic messages.

5. The Ritual (2017)

Based on the novel by Adam Nevill, The Ritual is a British horror film about a group of four college friends who reunite after the tragic death of their friend to hike through the Scandinavian wilderness. Unfortunately, it soon becomes apparent that an ancient evil is stalking them at every turn. If you want more Nevill content, you can always watch the recently released No One Gets Out Alive, which is also based on one of his books.
