Chucky Episode 5 recap: What secret is Bree hiding?
By Mads Lennon
A lot is happens in Chucky Episode 5, from epic and highly anticipated character returns to Chucky (seemingly) dying to one couple taking a big step in their relationship, but in the middle of all of these reveals comes one seriously tragic one.
SPOILER WARNING: If you haven’t watched the newest episode of Chucky yet, turn back now!
The latest episode begins with Lexy, Devon and Jake setting out to find and kill Chucky once and for all after all the devastation he caused in last week’s episode. Caroline has no love for Chucky when she sees his burnt, melted and misshapen new form, resulting in her dad, Nathan, shoving it down the trash chute.
Most of the fifth episode, “Little Little Lies,” consists of teen drama, Charles Lee Ray flashbacks, and the newly-formed trio trying to kill Chucky once and for all, but at least one other pivotal storyline is introduced.
Chucky Episode 5 recap: Bree is revealed to have Stage 4 cancer
Outside of the murderous doll, things aren’t great inside the Wheeler household. Junior’s father, Logan, might not be as outright abusive or an alcoholic like his late twin brother, but he is emotionally abusive and puts extreme pressure on his son.
Bree has taken notice of Logan’s obsession with Junior’s track future, to the point he called in a “favor” to get Junior into nationals despite his hospital stay, making it so he couldn’t even compete at regionals. Even the doctor said Junior shouldn’t be running anytime soon, but Logan intends to make sure Junior doesn’t fall behind in the sport, no matter what his son wants.
Will Tiffany or Chucky possess Bree before Chucky Season 1 is over?
During her therapy session, Bree reveals that she has been hiding her cancer diagnosis. It’s her little secret that no one knows right now. I’m curious how this reveal is going to play into the overall story. The purpose of Bree potentially dying seems like the writers might be setting up for Bree to become possessed, either by Tiffany or one of the many pieces of Chucky’s soul floating around out there.
